Stakeholder expectations for safe schools and districts are at an all time high. The burden of that expectation falls to school administrators and staff, and they seem to always be facing budget cuts, personnel cuts and unfunded mandates.
NewDawn Security eases the burdens for all involved and exceeds expectations.

How we do that is what truly separates us from our competitors:
• We assess your current school’s levels of practice in all 26 Certified Safe School standards shown above.
• We set a timeline to raise all 26 standards to the highest level–which we term “embedded”.
• That timeline includes assessments, training, announced drills, un-announced drills, surveys, strategic alliances with emergency service providers, press releases, and re-assessments.
• We guarantee that by the end of the timeline we will have your school operation functioning at the highest level possible, with strategic plans in place to keep it that way.
Where the 26 Safe School Standards came from:
According to a joint program (National School Safety Center) developed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Justice, there are 15 standards that must be embedded within day-to-day operations of any school to make it as safe as possible. With additional research, law enforcement influence, and executive protection tactics considered and added, we have increased this list to 26 standards. We believe that we have covered EVERY aspect of school safety. Meaning that, if implemented, with this program in your school you will be prepared to respond effectively, and/or prevent from happening, every known threat against today’s schools.
Additional benefits for your school/school district is that we don’t just measure the levels of all 26 necessary standards; we train, assess, drill and re-drill so that at the end of each performance standard implementation we show that your site is operating at the highest level of safety and security. We go the extra mile to make sure stakeholders, the community, students, and parents know what an outstanding job your school is doing to ensure the safety of your students.
How we train for specific Safe School Standards:
Typical trainings for schools in the areas of safety and security normally involve a specific area of focus being discussed with staff for a 30-45 minute timeframe. There might be a presenter speaking to all district staff at the start of the year for the purpose of professional development. The problem with that is how can we know what level of functionality is present already? How do we know that the training and information “sunk in”? How do we know how well staff will respond to a specific area of training if an event happens in real time? Our trainings answer every one of these questions.
Once we assess a safe school standard we then conduct trainings in those specific standards. It may only require a five person training, a review of policy/procedure, a one-on-one training, etc. NewDawn Security measures current levels of functionality before just assigning a mass training. We differentiate ourselves from other security consultants by providing trainings specifically designed for your needs to successfully accomplish our innovative approach. Our trainings reflect the individuality of each school/school district. Whether it’s one administrator or 1750 school district employees, our trainings not only reflect your values and educate your staff, they also are assessed at the end of each session to ensure an objective standard for measurement.
